Magibot is a 2D puzzle-platformer about a robot with magical powers, navigating dangerous landscapes to recover his lost memories. Released by Baïkin Studio on Steam, App Store, and Google Play, the game blends platforming with a two-step "plan and play" mechanic where players place magic blocks before controlling the robot.
This was my first proper studio experience: an eight-month internship as Game and Level Designer at Baïkin Studio. I worked on level design, boss encounter integration, and iteration based on internal playtests. I learned what it actually takes to ship a polished game alongside a team of veterans with credits on Spyro and Asterix.
Magibot's design challenge was making the two-step gameplay loop feel like one continuous experience. Players plan a path with magic blocks, then execute by controlling the robot. Each level had to teach a new mechanic without breaking the rhythm. I iterated dozens of levels until the planning phase felt as rewarding as the execution.
